CALL FOR DANCERS - Windsor Fringe Festival

We are so excited to announce our participation in the Windsor Fringe Festival this summer! We can't wait to share professional dance performances with audiences in Windsor & Essex County.
We are seeking professional and pre-professional dancers and dancer/choreographers to join us this summer in creating and performing in a new and original contemporary dance theatre show for the Windsor Fringe.
About the show: "Where The World Ends" (working title) is a 45-minute contemporary dance show about physical liberation, and racing for the light at the end of the tunnel. Rehearsals will be directed by company co-founder Carmen Leardi, and structured for the creation of new material, and learning of some pre-existing material.
Professional Company Dancer/Choreographers will be paid under profit-share model for their participation in the rehearsal/creation and performance of this contract. Travel and accommodations in Windsor provided.
Pre-Professional Company Dance Apprentices will participate in select company rehearsals and perform alongside company members during performances. Apprentices will be a part of the creative and production process for the show, and experience assisting with workshops and community events. Designed for dancers ages 16-18+ to support their professional development in performance dance.
Professional Company Dancer/Choreographer requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
Priority given to those with a strong connection to Windsor and/or Essex-County (birthplace, family connection, career connection, etc.)
Non-union
Rehearsals: Must be available to attend part-time evening and weekend rehearsals in Toronto May-July, 2025
Performances: Must be available for production rehearsals, and performances in Windsor during the week of July 20th-27th, 2025
TBD availability for fundraising and community engagement events in Toronto, and/or Windsor & Essex County
Must possess advanced/professional level of jazz and/or contemporary dance abilities
Must possess strong improvisation dance, and performance abilities
Choreographers may submit 1-3 proofs of pre-existing choreographed work (ex. Video links to original combos, or full pieces)
Pre-Professional Company Dance Apprentice requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age by December 31, 2025
Must be a local resident of Windsor or Essex-County
Must be available for Windsor local rehearsal dates: June/July (specific dates TBD)
Must be available for Windsor local performance dates: week of July 20th-27th
Non-union
Training in jazz and/or contemporary dance required
Strong improvisation and performance abilities a plus
May submit proof of existing work they have choreographed themselves (ex. Video link to school dance solo) to support performance resume
